Illinois State University Academic Senate

The Academic Senate serves the function of an advisory board to advise the President of Illinois State University regarding education policy.  The Academic Senate fills an administrative role occupied by personal conferences from the founding of Illinois State University to 1951 when the University Council was established. The Academic Senate has been an integral part of the evolution of Illinois State University’s curriculum development since 1970 when it replaced the University Council.

This site is a contact point for members of the Academic Senate. It also serves as a method of transparent governance that permits access to the process of the Academic Senate in its advisory capacity. Also, it is an archive for reference for much of the history and operation of Academic Senate.
